Zohar is a Hebrew word meaning Splendor” or “Radiance”. After so many wonderful names we came up with, Zohar which resonated best with our vision; Zohar wants to celebrate natural radiance that is born from within and the environment we live in. We celebrate the beauty that shines from inside out and we promote self-Love as it is everyone’s core responsibility to (Love yourself hard). We are all created with a light that is unique to all of us. At Zohar we are not only interested in selling products. We long to connect and build lasting relationships and impressions with our customers. We want to be part of your family
The company was founded in 2019 at the time the idea to mix natural oils came because of frustration. I am a mother of 2 beautiful girls, as my girls were 6 and 4 at the time. My girls grew up fascinated by Disney princesses and unicorns. This shapes their perception of beauty and self-love. They gave me an impression that they feel inferior and un-pretty in their natural coarse hair. My oldest at the time identified her afro as “clown hair”, if I don’t put her hair in a bun she will be in tears that she is not a clown. I never straightened their hair due to my personal experiences with the relaxer Ooh they burn. She would constantly plead with me to get her hair straight. I quickly realized I needed to teach my girls that we are all created unique and beautiful. We come in different shapes and sizes and also, we come with different skin colors and hair textures. Fortunately, I discovered a blend that works wonders and makes it easy for me to brush and maintain our natural hair. “The products work wonders and help the hair stay hydrated, strong and healthy”.

We offer handcrafted, 100% natural, and preservative-free products. Our range includes hair and body care items made from organic African oils and butters, designed to treat and nourish without harming the environment.
We pride ourselves with using pure African oils and butters. Our view is that we are in Africa and this continent has a lot to offer. Zohar is pro-Environment and pro natural, there are no chemicals or added preservatives to our products. These products nourish without harming your skin or hair and a huge plus is that our products are environmentally friendly. These oils and butters are mostly harvested by women around the continent. Zohar Foods brings responsibly sourced, natural food from various African nations to South Africa. We focus on providing convenient access to diverse African foods, promoting cultural diversity and quality.

Our team comprises of two women
Our founder Ms Lwazikazi Chidozie has pioneered this vision from a dream to reality. At a later stage was joined in partnership by Ms.Yanela Gongxeka who is imparting her skills to steer this reality into a success.
